당신은 잔해 위에 서 있다. 혹은 잔해가 당신이다. 해체는 이미 오래전에 시작되었다. (…) 인접한 틈이 언어가 될 수 있다면. 맞닿는 면에서 겹쳐지는 말. 기워져 엮인 채로, 낯선 이야기가 잔해의 파편으로부터 길어올려진다. ”그렇다면 어디로?*” 대지 위에는 꿰어진 이야기의 자리가 있다. 꿰낸 실이 지나간 자리는 점이다. 점은 종결의 구두점이자 다음 문장의 시작이다.

파편화된 세계에서 우리는 어떤 언어로 말할 수 있을까요? 잔해 속 남겨진 조각들은 그 사이의 틈에서 새로운 말 걸기를 요청합니다. 《패치워크!》는 그 요청에 대한 응답이자, 파편화된 감각을 꿰맬 실마리입니다. 이미지 조각과 파편적 문장으로 이야기를 직조하는 네 명의 작가는, 긴 호흡 속에서 인접하고 흩어지길 반복하며 구멍 난 서사 쓰기의 지형을 실험합니다.

あなたは瓦礫の上にいる。もしくは、あなたが瓦礫である。遥か昔から、解体はすでに始まっていた。(…) 触れ合う面と重なり合う言葉。異質な物語が瓦礫の欠片から掬い上げられる。「ならいったい、どこへ？*」地上には繋ぎ合わされた物語の居場所がある。糸を紡いでいったあとが、点で残っている。点は終結の句読点でもあり、次の一文の始まりでもある。

破片と化したこの世界で、私たちはどのような言語で話せるのだろうか 。残骸の中に残された欠片は、その隙間の中から新たな語り口を求めている 。「パッチワーク!」はその応答であり、破片と化した感覚を繋ぎ合わせる糸口である 。イメージの断片と断片的な文章で物語を織りなす四名の作家は、ゆっくりと呼吸を続け、隣り合っては散らばることを繰り返しながら、「穴の開いた語り口」の在り処を見出そうとする。

You stand upon the debris. Or perhaps the debris is you. The dismantling itself had already begun long ago. (...) If these adjoining gaps could become a kind of language. Words overlapping wherever surfaces touch. Patched together, interwoven, an unfamiliar story is drawn up from the shards of debris, as from a well. “So then, where to?*” On land, there is a place for such stitched-together tales. The spot where the stitching thread has passed through forms a point. The point is both a marker of conclusion and the beginning of the next sentence.

In what languages can we speak in this fragmented world? Scattered pieces left behind in the remnants call for new words within the gaps between them. Patchwork! is a response to that call as well as a thread that stitches fragmented sensibilities. The four artists, weaving nonlinear narratives from fragmentary images and sentences, experiment with a way of writing "narratives with holes," moving between proximity and dispersion in long, flowing breaths.
